A ball had not been kicked in anger yet, and Chelsea were already down a man against Norwich City today. Pedro, who was set to start on the right side of the attack alongside Tammy Abraham and opposite Christian Pulisic, hurt himself in the pre-match warm-up, during the shooting drill.

He was in clear discomfort as the minutes ticked away towards kick-off, and eventually the news came in that he had been replaced by Ross Barkley. Barkley slotted into central midfield once the match got underway, with Mount pushing up to the forward line. That move has paid dividends for Mount, who’s been heavily involved in both Chelsea goals. But Barkley did get beaten to the ball for Norwich’s first goal.

It’s been a wide open game at Carrow Road so far in the first half, and it’s pretty much anyone’s game at the moment. Depending on Willian’s health however, we are lacking a bit in winger options.
