As confirmed by Chelsea’s Instagram story a couple hours ago, N’Golo Kante has traveled with the team to Germany, for tomorrow’s friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach. This will be Chelsea’s final preseason friendly before the season starts next weekend.

Kante has not played a single minute in any of the previous six friendlies, though he was almost always with the team — mostly just training on his own rather than with the group however. He did get sent back home early from Japan in what looked like a(nother) minor setback in his attempts to recover from the knee injury that he picked up before the Europa League final at the end of May, and he did not travel with the team to Austria in midweek.
So it’s probably a good sign that he’s on the plane, even as the team continue to play it safe and not rush him back. Chelsea’s midfield may be pretty good as is, but it’s even better when N’Golo’s in it as well.
In related Kante news, here he is trying to look tough while promoting adidas’ new boots. You ain’t fooling us, N’Golo!
