Hasenhuttl is now open to cashing in on the Gabon international and with three years still left on his contract they will look to recoup the fee they paid out. Juventus have offered Ajax €65m (£58m/$73m) for De Ligt - €55m (£49m/$62m) up front with €10m (£9m/$11m) in bonuses, but the total falls around €10m short of the Dutch champions’ asking price. Atletico Madrid have been linked with a summer move for Napoli midfielder and Spain Under-21 star Fabian Ruiz, according to Diario AS. The 23-year-old - who has also been linked to Real Madrid - is said by Napoli to be ‘non-transferable’ but the report adds that Atleti sporting director Andrea Berta ‘is fondly in love with the midfielder’ and will pursue a deal.

Pipita returned to base after two failed loan spells in one season at Milan and Chelsea. Even though there is no room for him in the Bianconeri squad, Sky Sport Italia insist Higuain will not even think about accepting a move to Roma.

Renewal

Jose Callejon turned down a move to Shanghai Shenhua and is now negotiating a contract extension with Napoli. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Callejon was approached at the same time as Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado and Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy, with the Little Pharaoh accepting the transfer for €18m. Callejon’s contract with Napoli is due to expire at the end of this season, so talks have begun for a renewal.

Roma go once again for Bailey

Roma are yet again targeting Leon Bailey, although Bayer Leverkusen have placed a €40m price-tag on the 21-year-old Jamaican. The left-sided winger was already a major target in 2017 when he left Genk for Bayer Leverkusen at a cost of €13.5m and was back on their radar last summer. According to Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb, Roma are ready to try again for Bailey, who turns 22 next month.

Number 1 target

Gianluca Mancini is Roma’s number one goal for their backline. The young Italian, coming off a terrific 2018/19 campaign with Atalanta, has been selected by new manager Fonseca to replace Greek international defender Kostas Manolas, who recently moved to Napoli after five seasons with the Giallorossi. Contacts between the two clubs will start again in the next few hours with the Roman side set to bring him to the Capital as soon as possible.

Fiorentina being busy

Fiorentina are continuing to work on a transfer for Pol Lirola from Sassuolo. There have been new, positive contacts between the sides, and it looks like he may indeed be Fiorentina’s newest reinforcement. The Viola are also looking to extend Dragowski’s contract: the deal is not yet completed but Fiorentina are assured that they can complete the negotiations with the goalkeeper.

Dennis Praet is on the verge of leaving Sampdoria. Currently, there is a negotiation between the Blucerchiati and Valencia for the Belgian midfielder: the player’s agents are at work to find an agreement.

Nainggolan in demand

Inter are getting closer to a future with Radja Nainggolan, and there have been new developments in a possible transfer away from the nerazzuri. The ex-Roma midfielder is open to a move to China, and there are two teams that are interested. Dalian and Shangai Shenhua next will look to get an idea of whether Nainggolan would accept their offer.

A new meeting between Inter and Cagliari to continue talks for Barella took place to discuss his possible future in nerazzurro. After this encounter, the parties are much closer. Pau Lopez is expected to arrive in Italy’s capital on Monday on a morning flight to Fiumicino airport, he’ll then take the medical at the Villa Stuart clinic before signing his contract in Trigoria where his new teammates will gather for the start of the summer retreat. Pau Lopez will be the most expensive keeper in Roma’s history after arriving from Real Betis for €20 million plus the giallorossi renouncing to the percentage on Antonio Sanabria’s future resale.

The Colombian star’s agent Jorge Mendes was in Madrid as well to welcome him.
