Chelsea have officially confirmed today that Ruben Loftus-Cheek has signed a new long-term contract with the club, with over double the wages (£60k to £150k — worth every penny), and more importantly, tying him to the club until 2024.
Loftus-Cheek only had two years left on his contract, so this was the perfect time to get the deal done and avoid another Hazard or Hudson-Odoi situation next summer.

✍️ @rubey_lcheek has signed a new long-term contract with the Blues!
Joining Chelsea when he was merely seven years old, there have been very few academy players who have shown as much promise as Ruben has over the years. Crucially, he’s now living up to that promise as well, or at least has started to to since he’s still just 23.
Now also a full England international, Ruben should resume developing and improving and playing a big role for Chelsea as soon as he can recover from unfortunate Achilles injury. Despite limited minutes, RLC already reached double digits for goals last season. That surely will be music to new boss Frank Lampard’s ears.
So proud to sign a new long-term contract! I’ve been at this club since the age of 7 and it has always been my dream to play here. @ChelseaFC is my home and I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch. See you all soon. ✨ pic.twitter.com/6D5iDRDVIP
