Charly Musonda Jr is undoubtedly most eager to move on from last season, when a knee injury picked up less than two weeks after arriving at Vitesse on loan caused him miss almost the entire season, managing only a 14-minute cameo at the very end of the term.
Thankfully, as mooted at the start of May, Vitesse and Chelsea are giving him a chance for a do-over. As confirmed by both clubs this morning, the 22-year-old, who has three years left on his Chelsea contract, will return to Vitesse on loan for the 2019-20 season.

Musonda arrived at Chelsea in 2012 at age 15 alongside his brothers, Tika and Lamisha from Anderlecht. Heralded as one of the brightest talents from Belgium, Musonda has had several ups but many more downs since then, both with the Chelsea youth teams and while on loan at Real Betis, Celtic and Vitesse.
Now back at Vitesse, he will hopefully have the opportunity to prove that not only does he still have a high ceiling, but he also has the commitment and desire to reach it.
“I am very keen to show the real Charly Musonda. Last season I had a lot of bad luck with the injury. I feel good again now and I want to show that I can be of value to Vitesse.”

Good luck, Charly Jr!
