PICTURES: Chelsea back to training in Japan

Back to work

After a light session Saturday morning, Chelsea gave the players a chance to explore and walk around Tokyo following the friendly against Kawasaki Frontale on Friday evening. But on Sunday, the boys were back out on the training pitch — now at Omiya Stadium in Saitama, having moved base from Mitsuzawa Football Stadium in Yokohama — for the customary intense double session in the warm humidity.

Judging by the pictures however, there was also plenty of room for some competitive fun, with Ross Barkley’s golden goal kicking off great celebrations for the winning team.

As reported earlier, both Tammy Abraham and Kepa Arrizabalaga were full participants following their brushes with unhappy stomachs for Friday’s game. Here’s the latter make some quality saves, alongside fellow goalkeepers Willy Caballero and Jamie Cumming.

Chelsea will have one more day of double session training tomorrow (Monday), before taking on Barcelona in a friendly and flying back home for some training on the actual Chelsea training ground. Wahey!
