Chelsea may not have won yesterday, but at least the players got to run around a bit in the humidity, gain some fitness and get some technical work in as well. We also saw the debut of one Christian Pulisic, and that hype train is only getting rolling.
Frank Lampard has his ticket punched, too.
“He has been here a couple of days really in terms of training, so have been really impressed. He’s comfortable on the ball and I think he should have had a penalty towards the end of the game. He wants to try to take people on, the sort of player the fans are going to like so we have to give him a little bit of time to adapt slightly.
“But the way he has trained, the way he has come in with his personality looks great so I am really pleased to have him.”

The penalty incident that Lampard refers to came right near the end of the game, and perhaps the Premier League’s brand new VAR overlords would’ve caught it. Or not. It was just a friendly this time, so it hardly matters. But Pulisic’s directness should result in plenty of such opportunities — and hopefully plenty of fans at the Bridge.
