Cagliari and the Barella heir

Cagliari sold Nicolò Barella to Inter, so are now in talks for Boca Juniors midfielder Nahitan Nandez and Napoli’s Marko Rog. There is some confusion here, as Sky Sport Italia insist Rog will join Eintracht Frankfurt.

Atleast Arsenal are in control of something

Milan must wait for Arsenal to give the all-clear before they can purchase Algeria international Ismael Bennacer from Empoli. Sky Sport Italia maintain the final word is down to Arsenal, as the Gunners have a clause in the contract when they sold him to Empoli for €1m in 2017. That gives them the right of first refusal once Bennacer is sold, so if they match the Milan offer, then the Premier League side will have the priority.

Sad expectations

Romelu Lukaku is increasingly resigned to staying at Manchester United after Inter Milan failed to come up with a suitable offer during talks this week. The Belgium international has growing doubts about the Italian club’s financial ability to prise him away from Old Trafford.

-source: Evening Standard

Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku looks increasingly likely to be staying at Manchester United. It had been expected Inter Milan would try and sign Lukaku, 26, following the appointment of long-time admirer Antonio Conte as manager. However, there has been no bid tabled so far. Even if one were to be, United would want in excess of the £75m they paid Everton for him two years ago.

Only & if

According to a source at the Bundesliga runners-up, Diallo will only be sold if he really pushes for an exit, in tandem with a club willing to pay the right price. Timing is also a key concern. Replacement

Atalanta are thinking about the future: Gianluca Mancini is in fact getting closer and closer to Roma, so the Nerazzurri are working on bringing a substitute for the born in 96’ defender. Sergi Gomez, 27-year-old defender from Sevilla, who’s played 48 games last season, could take that job.
