New technical advisor and Chelsea legend Petr Čech was spotted for the first time this preseason observing the work on training ground at Carton House in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. While his role extends well beyond the training pitch, he probably had a few solid words of advice for young Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Meanwhile, the work continued in earnest as numbers expanded to a whopping 35 after yesterday’s new arrivals. It looks like another double session was the order of the day, as is standard and as one would expect for preseason. One session of work with the ball, another session oriented more purely towards fitness, with some resistance band training coming out as well, which we saw quite often during Conte’s first season as well. Lampard says he wants to play an aggressive, high-tempo style and you can’t do that without a solid baseline of fitness!
Here’s some bonus shooting practice, too. Work work work.
