According to reports from ESPN and Sky Sport Italia (via Football Italia), Maurizio Sarri’s move to Italian club Juventus has hit a bit of a snag, with Chelsea “insisting” on monetary compensation.

Chelsea had had a £5 million asking price set for Sarri since the start of these rumors, but were reportedly also considering alternative forms of payment, such as forgoing Gonzalo Higuaín’s loan fee or collecting extra on a transfer fee for someone like, Juan Familia-Castillo or Emerson. That, however, does not seem to be the case anymore, even if Chelsea allegedly had told Sarri’s intermediary, Fali Ramadani otherwise.
So, in the meantime, Sarri will have to wait; though, the situation surely remains simply a matter of time. Juventus director Fabio Paratici may play coy and say he is not the only one on their shortlist, but Sarri Oracle, Alfredo Pedullà and the rest of the Italian media are still confident that everything will be sorted by the end of this week.
