As if taking Eden Hazard away from Chelsea was not enough — not officially done yet, but surely just a matter of time — Real Madrid have now signed Luka Jovic from Eintracht Frankfurt as well.
You two were supposed to link up in London, not in Madrid!
Der Abgang von Luka Jovic ist fix. Der Torjäger wechselt zu @realmadrid und wird bei den Königlichen einen Fünfjahresvertrag unterzeichnen. #SGEhttps://t.co/KFZj2dCcnv

The exact transfer fee is not yet known but it's believed to be in the region of €60-70 million, with 30 per cent of the fee going to Benfica, from whom Frankfurt recently acquired the 21-year-old for just €6m after a two-season-long loan. While the amount is not exactly cheap for a young striker with limited top flight experience, that’s the price of doing business in today’s market.
Chelsea are in the market for a new striker for the third season in a row, complicated this time by the transfer ban as well, and are no closer to replacing the void left by Diego Costa’s departure. The Blues had reportedly asked Jovic to wait until next summer with his big-money move, but obviously he’s just chosen to look out for his own career, and rightly so.
