Villarreal have paid Napoli the €4m release clause of central defender Raul Albiol, who has also passed his medical at the club, report Marca. The Yellow Submarine have trumped Valencia in a move for the experienced defender while Marca previously reported that a deal is ‘virtually closed’.

Sevilla want to sign Ajax attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech but would have to pay his €30m valuation by the club, say reports. He is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations representing Morocco and is yet to make a decision over his future, but De Telegraaf claim Sevilla hold an interest.

After the initial contacts of the past few days, the talks regarding Gigio Donnarumma between Milan and Paris Saint-Germain continue. The French club’s sporting Leonardo wants to bring the player to Paris, as he hinted before leaving the Rossoneri. Donnarumma’s value is in fact set at 50 million, also due to his contract situation, with the player only having 2 years left on the current deal. Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez has put the brakes on a mooted move to West Ham after reported interest from Tottenham, according to El Desmarque. The 22-year-old Uruguay international has scored 30 La Liga goals in two seasons at the club and had been sounded out by the Hammers as a replacement for Javier Hernandez, who is expected to leave the club. But it is thought he would prefer a more prestigious move, and rumors of an approach from Champions League finalists Spurs have turned his head.

Luuk De Jong: From Eindhoven to Andalusia

Radja to Torino?

Torino are reportedly close to agreeing a surprise deal with Inter for midfielder Radja Nainggolan. According to ANSA, Inter are willing to send Nainggolan to Torino on loan and pay half his salary.

Gerson to Genoa

Genoa and Roma are in talks for the transfer of Gerson, a meeting between the clubs is currently underway. The midfielder returned from his loan at Fiorentina, but must look for a new club as his spell at Roma appears over.

Roma have made progress on the Amadou Diawara front after today’s meeting. The former Bologna midfielder will sign a five year deal with an annual salary between €2 and €2.2 million a season after taxes plus bonuses. The valuation of the player was set at €18 million plus €2 million in bonuses. On the other side of the equation, Kostas Manolas wants to join Napoli and on Friday the deal could be fully completed during a meeting in Montecarlo between Giuntoli and Raiola for the player’s wages — the agreement with Roma has already been reached.

Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy has declined Shanghai Shenua’s offer, despite the large offer from the Chinese club for over €16 million on a three year deal. The former Milan and Monaco player had never really been convinced of this option and change of life from the beginning and for this reason, he decided to refuse the opportunity.

Bartra to Rome

Roma continue to work on bolstering Fonseca’s squad. The Giallorossi’s new sporting director Petrachi is focused on two Real Betis players, starting with Marc Bartra, today he met with the defender’s agents for lunch.
