The month of July is just around the corner and that means preseason is just around the corner as well. Just as last season, Chelsea look to be starting preparations for the new season in the second week of July (July 8th or so), and just as always, those preparations will be filled to the brim with friendlies all around the world.
Today, Chelsea added three more games to that schedule, two across the Irish Sea in Dublin and one over on mainland Europe, in Germany. That means we’ll be playing seven (7!) friendlies in the month preceding the season itself, encompassing trips to Ireland, Japan, Austria and Germany. Busy busy busy!
Chelsea’s 2019-20 preseason schedule in full is as follows
July 10 vs. Bohemians (Dublin, Republic of Ireland)
July 13 vs. St. Patrick’s (Dublin, Republic of Ireland)
July 19 vs. Kawasaki Frontale (Yokohama, Japan)
July 23 vs. Barcelona (Saitama, Japan)
July 28 vs. Reading (Reading, England)
July 31 vs. RB Salzburg (Salzburg, Austria)
Aug 3 vs. Borussia Monchengladbach (Monchengladbach, Germany)
Chelsea’s first match of the Premier League season will the weekend after, as we travel to Old Trafford on August 11th, which will then be followed by a midweek match in Istanbul, Turkey against Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup.
Hopefully we can hit the ground running. Onwards and upwards!
