Hudson-Odoi recovery ‘going well’, hoping to be back on the pitch ‘soon’

This is what we like to see!

Sixty-two.

It’s been 62 days since Callum Hudson-Odoi’s season ended prematurely in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Burnley. It was one of those injuries which didn’t look like much when it happened, but turned out to be significant once examined. The diagnosis was a torn Achilles tendon, and we had feared that he would be out for up to a year.

While his absence fortunately did not hinder the Blues from lifting the Europa League trophy, concerns over Hudson-Odoi missing not only preseason but a good portion of the upcoming season still exist. However, looking at Callum’s most recent update on social media, his recovery seems to be going quite well.

As someone who’s had to deal with a similar injury, it’s incredible to see the 18-year-old’s progress after just two months. Recovery time for this sort of an injury can always vary and still hit future setbacks; however, at the moment, this is great news. We’re all hoping for great things from Hudson-Odoi next season! Rejoice, y’all!

(Now, how about that new contract ... is is time to sign it yet?)
