With Marco Giampaolo officially at Milan, his former club Sampdoria are set to announce his replacement. Eusebio Di Francesco is one step closer to the job after reaching an agreement with Roma to rescind his contract. The former Sassuolo manager is now three to sign a three year deal to start the next chapter of his career at Sampdoria.

After appointing Fonseca as Ranieri’s replacement, Roma are focused on bolstering their squad. The giallorossi have identified Jordan Veretout as the top target for the midfield, they’ll meet with his agent Giuffredi on Monday to reach an agreement.

Bidding war

West Ham face the prospect of a bidding war for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez. The Hammers have made Gomez one of their top summer targets but Celta Vigo are reluctant to sell the Uruguay international, who has a £43.5m release clause in his contract. Valencia are also interested in Gomez and Celta Vigo aim to spark a bidding war.

Paul over Christian

Real Madrid have made Paul Pogba their primary target for the remainder of the summer transfer window, ahead of Christian Eriksen. Los Blancos had shown significant interest in the Tottenham star but have decided to forego a move for the Dane in favour of trying to snap up Pogba, of whom Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan.

Schalke and Sporting are set for a £10 million ($12.6m) battle to sign Liverpool youngster Rafa Camacho. The Reds are ready to cash in on the 19-year-old this summer having been informed the player has no desire to extend his Anfield contract.

Grégoire Defrel has returned to Roma after a season long loan at Sampdoria. However, the striker is not said to be involved in the Giallorissi’s future plans and, therefore, could be on his way out. In addition to Cagliari, Bologna are also interested in the Frenchman.

Conte’s options for the attack

Inter maybe receiving messages of love from Arnautovic. They could be talking of a return (he was on the roster during the treble season of 2010) as the attacker would like to return to Italy. The Austrian, who is a teammate of Lazaro (talks for him continue with Inter) can leave West Ham for 25 million euros. For Inter, however, the priority at the moment remains Dzeko from Roma.

More Trippier smoke

Multiple Italian sources point to Kieran Trippier as the heir to Joao Cancelo at Juventus, although Tottenham want €25m. Sportitalia and La Gazzetta dello Sport both have the same report this evening, that new Coach Maurizio Sarri sees Trippier as the ideal replacement for Manchester City-bound Cancelo at right-back.

Rabiot to Juve?

Multiple Italian sources now claim Adrien Rabiot has given the all-clear to join Juventus as a free agent, signing a five-year contract. Manchester United had also made an offer to the midfielder, whose deal with Paris Saint-Germain expires on June 30. Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia had already stated last night that Rabiot made his decision for Juventus, but those reports are now spreading rapidly.

Juventus are confident of securing a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with the Bianconeri hoping to seal an agreement by the end of the week. Goal can confirm the midfielder, who is set to be out of contract at the end of the month, is weighing up a multi-year contract of €7 million (£6m/$8m) per season from the Serie A champions, with additional bonuses possible.

Inter being forced to lower expectations

Inter could turn to Sassuolo midfielder Stefano Sensi after reportedly refusing to rival Paris Saint-Germain for Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella. Inter have long been considered favourites for Barella but have so far been unwilling to meet Cagliari’s €50m asking price, instead proposing €36m plus €14m in bonuses and the option of loaning Federico Dimarco or Alessandro Bastoni.

Real Madrid are prepared to sell playmaker Isco this summer but a decision depends on the offers which they receive, say Marca. Zinedine Zidane is thought to be a keen admirer of Isco but equally would not block a transfer should a big-money offer come in from elsewhere.

Bertrand in the big leagues now

Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are ready to move for Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand as the south coast club appear ready to cash in on the 29-year-old this summer. Southampton twice told Manchester City that Bertrand was not for sale in 2017 & 2018 but as the left-back only has 2 years left on his contract, they are now expected to allow the defender to leave the club and promote Matt Targett to first-choice.

Atletico Madrid will confirm the arrival of Benfica star Joao Felix on Thursday after he passed a medical and signed a contract, say Marca. It follows on from a report on Wednesday in Onda Cero that a deal was in place after Marca reported on Monday that the deal was ‘imminent’ after his €120m release clause was met by Los Rojiblancos.

Roma want Bartra

Italian club Roma are interested in a deal for Real Betis defender Marc Bartra but may have to pay up to €25m, according to reports. The 28-year-old joined Los Verdiblancos in January 2018 from Borussia Dortmund in a €10m deal and now has a €60m release clause in his contract. Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio now claims the Italian capital club are pursuing a possible deal for the experienced central defender.

James to leave soon

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis wants to sign the playmaker on loan for 10 million euros, with a compulsory purchase option of 40m euros which would be paid in June 2020. But Real Madrid aren’t expected to accept that offer as they want money now. They need to earn big this summer to fund their own signings, and 10m euros isn’t enough for them.

The price for Neymar

According to French daily Le Parisien, PSG chairman Nasser Al Khelaifi has set the price on Neymar at a staggering 300 million euros – 78 million more than they paid for him two years ago.

Paris Saint-Germain have put Neymar on the market and they will not accept an offer worth less than the 220 million euros that they paid for the Brazilian, though there could be another way to reduce the price of the operation, particularly for Real Madrid. The key would be Casemiro, a player who has been watched by those in Paris for some time, seen as the replacement for Thiago Motta that the club have struggled to find.

Pogba prefers Turin

Paul Pogba has previously said that playing for “Real Madrid is a dream for anyone”. The Manchester United midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital, where coach Zinedine Zidane has already said he would welcome him with open arms. But the 26-year-old would now prefer a return to Juventus over a move to the Santiago Bernabéu, according to Sky Sports Italy. And Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Serie A champions are willing to throw in Brazilian winger Douglas Costa as part of any deal for Pogba, for whom United are understood to value at more than £150 million.
