Now on the other path are two cliffs, one of which reaches with its sharp peak to the broad heaven, and a dark cloud surrounds it. Therein dwells Scylla, yelping terribly.
The other cliff is lower and on it is a great fig tree with rich foliage, but beneath this divine Charybdis sucks down the black water.
And that’s how Odysseus found himself stuck between the terror of Scylla and the whirlpools of Charybdis, watching the Champions League final.
