Danny Welbeck has played his last game for Arsenal, with the club announcing his impending departure after Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Brighton. Watford and Bournemouth are leading the chase for England goalkeeper Jack Butland who wants to quit Championship side Stoke to boost his international prospects. Hornets boss Javi Gracia is eyeing a new ‘keeper despite veterans Ben Foster and Heurelho Gomes performing well this season. Butland, 26, is a decade younger than either and has nine England caps to his name - but Watford face competition from Cherries boss Eddie Howe who wants to replace Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc.
