Valencia unlikely to buy Cillessen

The whole ‘che’ will not address the signing of a goalkeeper that cost at least 30 million euros. Nor will pose it. Confirmed

City to keep Gundogan, Maguire is too expensive

Manchester City want to keep Ilkay Gundogan at the club this summer, even if it means letting him leave on a free transfer at the end of next season, Goal understands. City are confident they will be able to extend the midfielder’s contract, which expires in 2020, and more talks are planned in the coming weeks. As reported by Goal on Friday, Atletico Madrid’s deep-lying midfielder Rodri and Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire are top targets. City still believe Rodri will sign, but he has not yet fully committed to the transfer. The Premier League club are ready to pay his €70 million (£62m/$78m) buy-out clause, but Atleti are fighting to keep him in Madrid. Goal understands Leicester are holding out for a huge fee for Maguire - reports suggest it could be as high as £90m ($114m) - and that has made City consider their options.

TBA

Manchester United have been told to expect a decision from Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt in the coming days with the Premier League club still hoping to beat Barcelona in the race to sign the centre back. Although United sources have been privately briefing that they believe Barcelona agreed a deal with the 19-year-old and his representatives months ago, tellingly that has not stopped them trying to scupper the move.

Pogba delaying Eriksen

Signing Eriksen is more feasible. The Dane will be a key player for Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday in the Champions League final but with just one year remaining on his contract, Daniel Levy will be forced to negotiate this summer unless he wants the player to leave for free next year. But Zidane is leaning towards Pogba, rather than Eriksen, which is delaying Madrid from opening discussions, as he’s still not entirely convinced by the Spurs star.
