Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal, Europa League final: Post-match reaction

Well, that was fun!

Another trophy for the trophy cabinet, made all the more fun by denying Arsenal next year’s Champions League!

It was a terrible first half, but a much better second. Inconsistent to the end, but this time it works in our advantage.

A first trophy for Sarri, Kepa. A last trophy for Hazard.

It’s a day to celebrate and have fun. There are plenty of things to be concerned in the future, near- and long-term, but for right now, this is a good moment.

  • Lineup as expected, with the pleasant surprise that Kanté was passed fit. Just barely. And then he goes the distance. Warrior.
  • Chelsea go through the entire Europa League campaign undefeated.
  • Ex-Arsenal Giroud scoring on ex-Chelsea Čech one of those surreal moments. Giroud’s 11 goals for the season most since Shearer in 2004-05.
  • Standing ovation for Hazard. All the feels.
  • Next up: off-season! Silly Season!
