The theme for next season is early ‘90s from Nike, with a home shirt straight outta 1992 and a rumored away shirt from about 1990. As with most ‘90s fashion, the reaction has been rather mixed to them.
For the third kit, according to the latest leak from the usually spot on Footy Headlines, Nike are keeping the theme going, though not quite as directly inspired by Chelsea kit history.

These colors we had seen rumored before, though in a more a garish design.
This one’s certainly more toned down. The all-black shirt is yet another with an allover background pattern, a repeating ‘CFC’ wordmark. It features ‘90s-style trim on the cuffs and the collar. The Nike logo is the throwback style they’ve been using on many designs, with the brand name included just as it had been before switching to just “the Swoosh” in 1995.

The kit is expected to have matching black shorts with orange socks. Gotta love the orange socks!
Chelsea have had quite a few black kits in the recent seasons, including a black and orange striped number in 2010-11, which remains a personal favorite of mine.
