It’s the last match of the Premier League season and not much is at stake, save for pride. Let’s go out with a win!

LIVE BLOG:

FT: That’s a wrap for Chelsea’s 2018/19 Premier League season. The Blues finish in third place, thanks to Spurs’ 2-2 draw against Everton.

84min: Giroud has replaced Higuain, meaning that this season will be the first in several years NOT to have an academy player make his debut.

81min: Loftus-Cheek takes a fumbling step in the penalty area after being derailed by Danny Simpson but still manages Hazard, who’s also hacked down but there’s no penalty.

79min: Chillwell makes a lung-busting run from his own half to the byline and crosses, only for the ball to be met by David Luiz.

76min: Time for the weekly Kovacic-Barkley swap.

75min: Danny Simpson is brought on for his farewell appearance, he replaces Mark Albrighton.

74min: Barkley shoots straight at Schmeichel from just outside the area.

68min: Hazard is introduced in place of Willian.

61min: Some strong running from Loftus-Cheek results in Pedro with possession at the edge of the area, he shoots high and wide.

56min: Azpilicueta slide-tackles the ball out of play after a threatening cross from Albrighton with Vardy lurking just behind the Chelsea captain. A crucial intervention.

53min: Using Loftus-Cheek’s diagonal run as a decoy, Willian squares it just inside the box to Ross Barkley, who lashes wide of the goal.

47min: Tielemans comes very close with an audacious volley from far out following a corner.

45min: James Maddison kicks of proceedings in the second half.

HT: Referee calls time on a largely boring half of football which saw its best chances created a couple of minutes before the whistle.

45min: Higuain decides to one-up Vardy by making a meal of an even better chance! With just the keeper to beat from point-blank, he shoots with one foot and blocks with the other.

44min: Vardy squanders the best chance of the match so far. After easing past Luiz, his square ball for Tielemans is too long and the midfielder’s shooting angle is too acute for comfort.

34min: David Luiz is down after a nasty head collision with Tielemans.

30min: Caballero is finally forced into a save, although only for name’s sake; Vardy’s glancing header from an in-swinging free-kick is right at Caballero.

28min: Higuain turns, takes a couple of touches and shoots just wide.

24min: A ten-minute period with no notable action is ended by a long shot from James Maddison, although it ends up like most other such attempts in this game - in the stands.

13min: Willian and Loftus-Cheek are involved in a break forward, the attacker’s grounded shot is saved comfortably by Schmeichel.

8min: Hamza Choudhury goes for the spectacular, attempting a first-time volley that is fired above, marking Leicester’s first attempt on goal.

6min: Pedro’s lobbed cross finds the head of Loftus-Cheek but it’s well over.

3min: Jorginho with a perfectly-weighted pass to an onrushing Barkley who’s one-on-one with Schmeichel but volleys straight at him.

Chelsea starting XI: Caballero | Zappacosta, Azpilicueta (c), Luiz, Alonso | Barkley, Jorginho, Loftus-Cheek | Pedro, Higuain, Willian

Substitutes from: Arrizabalaga, Giroud, Hazard, Kovacic, Christensen, Emerson, Guehi

Leicester City starting XI: Schmeichel (c) | Pereira, Maguire, Evans, Chillwell | Choudhury, Ndidi | Albrighton, Tielemans, Maddison | Vardy

Substitutes from: Ward, Simpson, Okazaki, Gray, Barnes, Iheanacho, Morgan

If you’re doing a double-take at the unfamiliar name on Chelsea’s bench, it’s Marc Guehi, a centre-back who turns 19 this July. Somewhat in the mold of Fikayo Tomori who’s now excelling on loan at Derby County, Guehi is a dominating defender who’s good in the air, comfortable with the ball at his feet and arguably the most talented player in his position among the current Chelsea youth ranks. Guehi was also part of the England Under-17 squad that were crowned World Champions in India a year-and-a-half ago.
