Chelsea take on Eintracht Frankfurt tomorrow in the first leg of the Europa League semifinal, looking to keep our unbeaten run in the competition going and setting the team up for next week’s second leg back at Stamford Bridge.
The squad flew out to Germany today after a morning training session at Cobham, taking all players who are not injured, not ineligible, or not named Gary Cahill. Chelsea’s club captain continues to be ostracized beyond reason, even with the team one defender short with the season-ending injury to Antonio Rudiger. In fact, only two recognized center backs have traveled as Ethan Ampadu appears to have been shut down as well, even though he had returned to training recently following his back problems.
UPDATE: Cahill’s apparently injured, too, after all the not playing.
Sarri says Gary Cahill has an Achilles tendon problem and that is why he has not traveled. He hopes to have him back in a week as he has problems at centre-back with Toni Rudiger out for at least three months following surgery. #FRACHE
