Chelsea youngster Reece James has been one of the names touted to make the jump from the Loan Army to the first-team next season, thanks to a marvelous loan stint at Wigan. Things have gone so well for him that even though his team sit 20th in the Championship, he has been selected to the division’s Team of the Season.
And today, during Wigan’s match against Bristol City, he gave us an exclamation point as to us why everyone has been so hyped by his level of play in the Championship.
Lest we forget, this is James’ first season as a senior professional. The 19-year-old has been a Chelsea player since the age of six, winning two FA Youth Cup and U18 Premier League titles in his youth years, as well as getting awarded the 2017-18 Chelsea Academy Player of the Year prize before heading to Wigan this summer and impressing everyone with his play in defence and midfield.
This kid’s going places, that’s for certain!
