With just a few weeks to go in the 2018-19 season, but maybe even as many as five should Chelsea make it all the way to the Europa League final, it’s time to start thinking about some annual awards, including the fan-voted Chelsea Player of the Year.
This year’s The Chelsea Awards will actually take place the Friday before the final Premier League matchday, which seems like odd timing especially if the top-four flight comes down to that last weekend.
The biggest award of the night that will be handed out is of course the Player of the Year, which is voted on by the fans. So what are you waiting for? Get to voting!
Head on over to the official website and cast your vote.
It’s not been a stellar year, but there are certainly a few obvious candidates to choose from, including first and foremost, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kanté, who have won 4 of the last 5 PotY awards — Willian sneaking in a few years ago for one, to break up Hazard’s three-year win streak, with Kanté winning last season.
If Hazard wins, he would be the first player in the award’s history to win it four (4!) times. Right now, he shares the record for most wins, 3, with Frank Lampard.
So, vote on Chelsea official, then come back here and tell us who you voted for in the poll below.
