Manchester United are looking to avoid losing Matteo Darmian for free at the end of next season by offering the full-back a new four-year deal at Old Trafford, according to reports in Italy. The 29-year-old is known to want a move back to Serie A but United are said to be preparing a package to ensure a sell-on fee is acquired for the 36-times-capped Italy international. The Reds triggered a clause in Darmian’s contract earlier this season that tied the former Torino defender to Old Trafford until the end of the next campaign.

Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin is “90 percent sure” to join Inter Milan this summer, a source close to the player has told ESPN FC. The 33-year-old is out of contract in June, having won eight trophies including a La Liga title since joining from Villarreal in 2010, and has also been linked with Manchester United, AC Milan and Juventus.

Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic is wanted by Besiktas and Fenerbahce. The 26-year-old has spent the last 15 months on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough who are also keen to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer. Besic has two years left on his contract at Everton but is not in Marco Silva’s plans and it is understood they would listen to offers of around £9million.
