Rumors & Gossip: Spurs demand exorbitant fee for Eriksen; Kroos control at the Etihad

Tottenham have named their asking price for Real Madrid summer target Christian Eriksen, according to fresh reports in Spanish newspaper Diario AS this morning. The Danish international is reportedly on the list of targets for the Spanish giants this summer, however it not yet clear whether new manager Zinedine Zidane wants to bring him in. However, despite his contract situation with the Premier League side, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reported to be holding out for a fee of €150m, although Real Madrid could look to negotiate a player swap, with Spanish international Isco going in the opposite direction.

No further talks are planned between Chelsea and England debutant Callum Hudson-Odoi until the summer, when he will have just one year left on his deal. With Manchester United expected to join Bayern Munich this summer in bidding for the 18-year-old, who made his England debut against Montenegro on Monday, Chelsea face the dilemma of whether to cash in or run the risk of losing him for minimal compensation of their training costs at the end of his contract in 2020. The club and his family, who are handling negotiations, have not had substantive talks since Bayern Munich made their last bid of £35m for the player, which came on January 30th, the day before the transfer window closed.

Some youth news

Liverpool have agreed to pay a fee of £350,000 for Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom, Football Insider understands. The rising star, 17, signed a contract with the Merseyside giants after undergoing a trial and has now linked up with Barry Lewtas’ Under-18s squad at the club. A club source has told Football Insider that Liverpool must pay a compensation fee to the Championship club for the developments costs of bringing the Preston-born youngster through their ranks.
