LIVE BLOG:
90+3min: Another impressive win for England!
90+2min: Still time for Henderson and Rose to collect stupid bookings for not keeping their cool.
90min: It’s the 90th minute, up four, and Hudson-Odoi still hustling, still playing, still pressing.
82min: Barkley’s night is done as he makes way for Ward-Prowse. Callum Wilson then replaces Harry Kane.
80min: GOAL! And now’s 5-1 as Sterling gets his. Rampant.
72min: GOAL!! And now it’s 4-1 as Sterling breaks forward on the right, lays the ball across to Harry Kane, who finishes with ease. England pouring it on.
67min: Sterling gives away a cheap foul in a shooting position, but Jankovic’s effort is very poor and straight into the wall.
63min: England look like scoring every time they break forward. This could get ugly for the home side. Not fully fit Dele off for not fully fit Henderson.
61min: Beciraj off for Jankovic as Montenegro make a change up front.
59min: GOAL!!! Barkley again! Kane and Sterling combine on the right side, before the latter dribbles around a bit and eventually cuts its back towards the penalty spot where an unmarked Barkley lashes it into the back of the net. His second goal. 3-1, ENGLAND!
54min: Beciraj misses a sitter after England make a mess of a clearance.
52min: Barkley gets a yellow card for ... taking the free kick too quickly? LOL.
51min: CHO cuts inside from the left and finds himself with room to shoot ... but it’s blocked by a lunging defender for a corner, which is cleared.
50min: Sterling with a great chance at the far post, but his first-time effort sails high and wide.
46min: No changes at half time.
45+1min: England now in control and reach half-time with the lead. Hudson-Odoi looking dangerous, Barkley so far the scoring star.
38min: GOAL!! Barkley! It’s all about Callum Hudson-Odoi, cutting in from the left past two, and taking aim. It may be going in but Barkley’s there to touch it past the goalkeeper. 2-1, ENGLAND! That’s a goal and an assist for Barkley now.
36min: CHO switches to the left and blows past the right back. A nice cross towards the back post finds Sterling in acres space, after a slight deflection, but he somehow makes a mess of it and Montenegro clear.
34min: Pickford is tested from range. Holds well. Barkley then has a pop at the other end after a nice turn, but it’s blocked.
30min: GOAL!! Walker’s fouled wide right; Barkley swings in a good-looking cross, which Keane heads home easily. As bad as his clearing header was to gift the chance for Montegenro’s goal; this one was just as good at the opposite end. Assist for the Chelsea man! 1-1!
26min: Montenegro play around England’s defenders again, especially Walker, but Vesovic’s cross is cleared by Rose.
23min: Hudson-Odoi tries to lead the counter, beats one, but the covering defender does enough and the chance is gone.
21min: Hudson-Odoi beats two to create the cross, which is just cleared by Savic ahead of the arriving Dele. Barkley lofts in the corner but Keane’s called for a foul off the ball.
17min: GOAL! Montenegro find the breakthrough as Keane’s clearing header is straight to Vesovic, who cuts inside, nutmegs Keane, and finishes with aplomb around Pickford. Hudson-Odoi was beaten on the initial header, but the defense did not cover themselves in any glory there. 1-0, Montenegro!
11min: Barkley wins a free kick in a decent position in central midfield. He chips in a flat ball towards the far post, which is cleared for a corner. Barkley then takes the corner, and it’s half-cleared. Sterling then beats four before putting in a cross for Dele, which he just can’t get to in time.
7min: CHO fashions a decent-looking cross, but it’s cleared for a corner. Barkley takes and finds Maguire near the penalty spot, but his header is surprisingly well off target.
4min: Sterling switches to Hudson-Odoi, first touch is great but his second touch is terrible and Montenegro clear to the halfway line. England build again.
KICK-OFF: Peter Drury on the mic. This could get good! CHO in the No.11 shirt.
IT’S CALLUM HUDSON-ODOI TIME! Get hyped! Ross Barkley also starts as England name just six non-goalkeepers to the substitutes bench thanks to a few more injuries suffered over the past couple days.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is the first player to START for England who was born AFTER the final match was played at the old Wembley Stadium (7 October 2000, England 0-1 Germany).#Euro2020 #MONENG
