Atlético Madrid are hoping to get their season back on track after back-to-back losses and are hoping that a certain Diego Costa, fit for the first time in almost two months, can help them in doing so, both with his goals — which have largely been missing since returning from Chelsea (just 4 in 26 La Liga appearances) — and also by getting Álvaro Morata firing again, either through competition or by playing the pair of them together.
That latter aim is slightly ironic as it’s something we had often wished for last season, when Morata failed to inadequately replace Costa at Chelsea. Alas...
“Costa is a beast, he’s raring to go, he’s ambitious and as everyone knows, he’s a warrior. We hope he can release what he has inside, we badly need it.
“There is no question that Morata and Costa are compatible, in a solid, structured team.”

The beauty and the beast, though one of them would have to displace Antoine Griezmann from the starting lineup first, which is certainly easier said than done.
Either way, with Morata looking for his first Atlético goal and his 10th goal in all competitions for the season, perhaps the return of the warrior will inspire him to the greatness we’ve been waiting for since two summers ago.
