Chelsea return to Stamford Bridge for a Saturday 3pm kick-off against bottom of the table Huddersfield Town. It should be exactly what the doctor ordered.
Wednesday’s shocking scenes consigned Chelsea to our second worst ever defeat in the Premier League, but the Terriers are putting together one of the worst seasons in the competition’s history, so maybe Chelsea can actually make some headway and score some goals and maybe even get three points! Wouldn’t that be something?
Back-to-back losses in the league (without scoring a goal, even!) means that Chelsea are out of the top five for the first time all season. All the games are must-wins from here on out.
Maurizio Sarri will address the media shortly (maybe?) in his usual pre-match press conference, but Chelsea should have a clean bill of health. Transfer deadline day saw no major developments as far as the first-team squad is concerned either, so there are plenty of options to choose from.
