LIVE BLOG
90+6min: FULL TIME.
90+5min: A couple half-chance go begging, but not much conviction in them. And then we get called for a foul throw, even.
90+2min: Pulisic with a hopeful effort from 25. Wide.
90min: 6 more minutes of this nonsense.
89min: Pulisic’s far post header from an Azpilicueta cross is an easy catch for Pickford.
88min: Hudson-Odoi’s shot is blocked. Chelsea still trying to push through the center, where there is no space.
85min: Walcott off for Bernard.
84min: GOAL. Calvert-Lewin. Chelsea once again architects of our own downfall. Kepa’s simple pass out to Zouma goes to an Everton player instead, and then we fail to clear the ball, and it’s just a disaster. 3-1.
83min: Pulisic wins the foul and Sidibé, already on a yellow, doesn’t get a second yellow for kicking the ball away. Mount’s delivery is easily defended.
82min: Batshuayi on for James. Baines on for an injured Digne for the home side.
80min: Chelsea come again, and Azpilicueta cuts it back to Mount, whose first-time finish draws a fantastic block from Holgate. Azpilicueta snaps to the rebound, but Pickford gets a fingertip to it . Chelsea cannot make the corner count.
79min: Abraham knocks it down for Mount, but he doesn’t go for goal, and his square ball is cleared.
78min: Kovacic finds Christensen steping into space in midfield, and he hits a clean strike from 25 yards, which bounces just a couple yards wide of the post.
76min: Chelsea try to go up the middle, but it’s way too congested in there and Everton can clear.
74min: Abraham tries to turn Keane, but his touch is a bit long and he’s squeezed out by the defender and the goalkeeper. Pickford gives Abraham a solid elbow right into that injured hip and the Chelsea man stays down for some treatment. He looks okay to continue.
72min: Chelsea trying to push, but a midfield turnover leads to a cross from the left. Azpilicueta does well enough to keep Davies from getting on the end of that and Kepa can collect.
70min: Davies on for Richarlison as Everton switch to a 4-5-1. Hudson-Odoi on for Willian for Chelsea.
69min: Sidibé bodies Pulisic off the ball after Azpilicueta passes up a prime crossing opportunity. Pulisic called for a foul anyway after Sidibé fouls theatrically to the ground.
68min: Zouma fouls Richarlison but Chelsea defends the deep free kick well enough. Calvert-Lewin meanwhile picks up a yellow for an earlier infringement.
65min: Mount’s turn to go close after some great work from Kanté. But the finish is wayward, despite an open corner to aim at.
63min: Kovacic goes close from 20 yards.
61min: James wins a free kick, but it’s Everton who break from it. This time Kanté wins the ball from Walcott, 1-v-1.
59min: Chelsea caught upfield on a corner and Walcott breaks, beating Kanté and taking a shot from the angle of the six-yard box. Arrizabalaga makes the key save.
57min: Kovacic loses the ball while playing left back, but Everton cannot work a clear shooting opportunity.
55min: Chelsea push on the right this time and Willian’s cross creates havoc, but the ball had crossed over the endline and play is pulled back.
52min: GOALLL! KOVAČIĆĆĆĆĆĆĆĆ! Kanté pushes up the left flank and play in Mount, whose cross is cleared only as far as Kovacic, who guides a perfect finish into the bottom corner of the net from 25 yards! 2-1!
51min: Kovacic bullied off the ball as Everton are once again going full tilt. Kepa’s down to save from Richarlison this time.
49min: GOAL. Calvert-Lewin. Christensen and Zouma can’t clear a simple ball, and Calvert-Lewin is left 1-v-1 with Kepa. No mistake with the finish. Another incredibly simple goal. 2-0, Everton.
47min: An early free kick is swung in by Sigurdsson, but Calvert-Lewin’s header is well over the bar.
HALF-TIME: No changes for either side as Everton restart the game.
45+2min: Half. All Chelsea with the ball, all Everton with the goal.
45+1min: Everton win a corner, Zouma heads clear. Everton win it back and play it around, but then make a mess of it and Chelsea can play out.
43min: Another slick passing move by Chelsea, and Abraham finds Willian in the area, but he once again overcomplicates the situation and Everton have a goal kick.
42min: Richarlison second into the book for going through Kovacic to make the tackle from behind. Can’t do that these days. Chelsea ratcheting up the pressure, but no joy yet. Mount’s free kick is cleared ahead of Zouma.
39min: Pulisic turns the corner on the left again, but his low cross is poked clear just ahead of Willian. Kovacic does well to keep possession, but the move breaks down.
38min: More route one football from Everton, who almost pick out Walcott on the far side. Fortunately his touch is terrible and we have a goal kick.
37min: Mount and Pulisic combine well, but the former’s shot is blocked by a sprawling Holgate, who also clears for a throw.
35min: Abraham’s looping header is easy pickings for Pickford, but the striker was offside anyway. Pickford’s goal kick gives Iwobi the opportunity to chase, but James is back to defend and win the ball 1-v-1.
33min: Great play by Chelsea up the left flank, but Mount’s cross is just inches away from Abraham’s outstretched boot.
32min: Willian’s latest cross from the right is behind Abraham’s run, and there’s no secondary runner to take advantage.
30min: Digne first into the book for hauling down Willian to stop a counter.
28min: Zouma, after almost giving the ball away, picks out James with a great cross-field ball, but the right back’s touch is a bit loose and Iwobi’s back to defend and clear.
26min: Chelsea take the corner short, but nothing useful comes of it as James’s heel flick goes well wide and out for a goal kick. Chelsea win the ball back through Kanté, who plays to Willian, who beats his man with pace and puts in a cross from the byline. Abraham gets to it, but it’s a very tight angle, and his toe poke flashes across the face of goal instead of into it.
24min: Pulisic beats two out wide left, but is only able to win a corner. Richarlison’s down and receiving a bit of treatment. Looks okay to continue.
19min: Willian nicks the ball from Keane, but neither he nor Abraham can create an actual shot, overplay the 2-v-1 situation, and Everton have a goal kick.
18min: James called for a foul at midfield, which is pumped into the area, to keep up the theme of route one football for the hosts. Kepa out to make the catch. His throw is cut out by Digne, but he does not go for the return ball and Chelsea have a goal kick.
16min: Everton win the ball from the goal kick, and Walcott plays in Calvert-Lewin. Kepa’s down to make the save. At the other end, another Willian corner’s headed clear and Kanté stops a potential counter by Walcott.
14min: Mount wins a corner, which Willian takes. Headed clear with ease.
12min: Pulisic weaves a bit of magic on the left, but his cutback is cut out.
11min: A loose touch from Azpilicueta leads to a foul, which leads to a free kick, which leads to a clearance. Everton quickly come again, and Walcott’s cross from the right is just out of Richarlison’s reach.
9min: Chelsea maintaining possession, but Everton, buoyed by the early goal, absolutely harrying every pass and movement, giving no time or space.
5min: GOAL! Richarlison. Simple as you like, as no one picks up Richarlison’s run and he heads in a cross from the right. 1-0, Everton.
4min: Kanté wins the ball in midfield and Chelsea break down the right through Willian. His cross is cut out but only as far as James. He puts a cross back in and slightly mis-hits it, and almost causes problems for Pickford as it flutters just wide of the post.
2min: An early searching ball down the left flank is too long for Azpilicueta, and Everton have a goal kick.
KICK-OFF: Chelsea in all black with orange socks, Everton in blue shirts and white shorts. And we’re off!
