Chelsea returned to winning ways midweek and Frank Lampard will be hoping to collect our next three points against a now Marco Silva-less Everton. The Toffees have had a terrible start to the season, currently sitting in the relegation zone, and the sacking of their manager was inevitable. As such, expect them to turn into prime-Barcelona against us.
THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE
As we’ve become accustomed to, the WAGNH community stuck to Lampard’s favoured 4-2-3-1 formation, with the 4-3-3 receiving merely 31%.
In defence, Andreas Christensen (46%) heads back to the bench for the revival of the Fikayo Tomori and Kurt Zouma partnership. At full back, Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta manage to once again hold off Marcos Alonso (8%) and Emerson (41%) with ease.
Despite arguably being the best player on the pitch on Wednesday, Mateo Kovačić (57%) is rested for this game as Jorginho returns to the starting lineup and links up with N’Golo Kanté in the pivot
The community rewarded Mason Mount for his latest sublime goal and sees him team up with Christian Pulisic and, by a narrow margin, Willian, who just beats Callum Hudson-Odoi to a starting spot (54%).
Tammy Abraham just cannot stop scoring at the moment and despite the slight injury concern, he remains well out of reach for both Olivier Giroud (3%) and backup Michy Batshuayi (22%).
4-2-3-1 (67%)
Arrizabalaga (99%) | Azpilicueta (73%), Tomori (74%), Zouma (74%), James (79%) | Jorginho (71%), Kanté (92%) | Willian (58%), Mount (83%), Pulisic (82%) | Abraham (72%)
MY PREFERRED LINEUP
Never change a winning system ... well, at least in midfield. Kovačić’s dominant performance against Villa made it impossible for me to drop him as he gelled so well with Kanté in the pivot. Also, I really want Hudson-Odoi to start this one as I can see him causing that Everton defense all sorts of problems and he could use the minutes.
4-2-3-1
Arrizabalaga | Azpilicueta, Tomori, Zouma, James | Kovačić, Kanté | Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Pulisic | Abraham
COME ON, YOU BLUES!!!
