Chelsea drawn against Nottingham Forest again in FA Cup Third Round

For the third season running, Chelsea will face Nottingham Forest in a domestic cup competition as today’s FA Cup third round draw paired the two former European champions against each other once again.

In fact, we had this exact same tie in the third round last season, when Chelsea won 2-0 thanks to a Callum Hudson-Odoi-assisted Alvaro Morata brace. That match also turned out to be Cesc Fabregas’s Stamford Bridge farewell. Chelsea also played forest the season before last, that time winning 5-1 in the Carabao Cup, when Michy Batshuayi scored a hat-trick and Charly Musonda Jr looked to have finally made his senior breakthrough (not quite, as it turned out).

What major developments will lie in store for us this season?

Despite the teams involved, this game may not be too readily available on television thanks to a Merseyside Derby on tap as well.
