Chelsea 0-1 West Ham, Player Ratings: Arrizabalaga the only one good enough

Community player ratings from Chelsea’s disappointing home defeat against West Ham United

1. KEPA ARRIZABALAGA (7.0)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 28
Passes: 17/21
Saves: 3

Arrizabalaga has become a fan-favorite scapegoat over the past few weeks, so it’s nice to see him recognized for a good day out, for a change. It’s just too bad it came in such forgettable circumstances.

2. CHRISTIAN PULISIC (6.3)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 67
Passes: 31/41
Shots: 0/5
Take-ons: 5/9
Fouls drawn: 1

By contrast, there’s been very little doubt about Pulisic’s form and ability over the past couple months, with the 21-year-old showing repeatedly and to great effect just why Chelsea spent big on him last January. On Saturday, he looked to be Chelsea’s only true attacking threat, and our likeliest goalscorer. Unfortunately, he did not find paydirt with any of his game-leading 5 shots.

3. REECE JAMES (6.2)

Minutes: 90
Touches: 112
Passes: 63/68
Shots: 0/1
Take-ons: 8/10
Fouls drawn: 3
Tackles+INTs+Blocks: 2+2+1
Aerial duels won: 4

James was good enough (and dribble-y enough!) on the day that not even getting chopped up by Cresswell for the game’s only goal could keep him off the podium.
