You may or may not have seen the highlights of Chelsea U18’s excellent 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the opening round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday already — if you’re a fan of Chelsea’s 5th Stand App or their non-embeddable video player on the official website, you probably have.
If you’re like me and prefer a more standardized platform such as YouTube, the Terriers are here to rescue you (and I don’t mean the amazing but unfortunately very short-lived TV show).
You may have heard of new hotness Armando Broja’s (No.9) hat-trick (plus assist!), but now you can see it for yourself as well. His first goal features a very nice interceptions from Valentino Livramento (No.7), before he rounds the goalkeeper to finish. Then he sets up the second goal, showing great hustle and speed, though Myles Peart-Harris (No.11) does very well to finish from a tight angle. Broja’s second goal is a fairly standard affair as he gets ahead of his defender to slot home from Ian Maatsen’s (No.5) cross, but his third is a great individual effort that certainly reminds of his idol Didier Drogba in many ways as he rolls his defender, then beats him for pace before finishing assuredly.
Plus there’s a fantastic pass from Tino Anjorin for Ian Maatsen (goalkeeper saves), a missed penalty from Lewis Bate (crossbar), and another crossbar hit from Marcel Lewis (No.15) in what was a very strong performance from the Blues to book their place in the next round.
