1. MATEO KOVAČIĆ (8.2)
Minutes: 90
Touches: 157
Passes: 135/141
Shots: 1/2
Take-ons: 4/5
Tackles+INTs+Blocks: 3+1+1
Most games are won and lost in midfield, so it warms the heart to see that recognized and acknowledged. Kovačić lead the team in touches, passes, and take-ons — and for a hot second, he almost looked like scoring, too! — as Chelsea controlled and dominated the midfield.
2. JORGINHO (8.1)
Minutes: 90
Touches: 139
Passes: 117*/125
Take-ons: 2/2
Tackles+INTs+Blocks: 5+3+2
Right next to Kovačić in almost all aspects was Jorginho, who was second on the team in touches and passes, while also leading the team in tackles (!). In the grand Rampardian tradition of midfield pivots, they now have to christened. Shall we call them Jorgvačić? Jovačić? Korginho? Woof woof!
3. TAMMY ABRAHAM (8.0)
Minutes: 86
Touches: 25
Passes: 12*/12
Shots: 2*/4
Fouls drawn: 2
It is perhaps testament to how good Chelsea were that Kepa Arrizabalaga doesn’t even crack the top three despite his win-preserving save at the death. To be fair, he does come close — very close, indeed — with the top six separated by only three-tenths. Zouma and Pulisic just barely miss out alongside Kepa, as Tammy rounds out the podium with his 9th goal and 2nd assist in the Premier League this season (10+3 in all competitions).
