LIVE BLOG

FULL TIME: And there it is. A West Ham team without a win since September come to the Bridge and earn a cleansheet. Chelsea nil, West Ham 1.

90+5min: West Ham have possession in the Chelsea third. Fredericks and Emerson have words but at this point it’s likely too late to march up field.

90+3min: Chelsea have a freekick that James takes from the right. It’s headed out by West ham again. Chelsea win the ball back but are offside on the subsequent delivery into the box.

90+2min: Willian corner hits the first man... Chelsea win the ball back and hit more hopeful balls into the box.

90+1min: Chelsea set piece from the left flank is headed out by West Ham. Kante heads it back in to Tomori who collides with Martin. Ugly looking clash has Martin looking worse for wear... Chelsea corner.

90min: 5 additional minutes. About as long as Yarmolenko was staring at this “injury”.

89min: Pulisic lashes an effort wide! Kante picked him out from a 50/50 ball for a good chance.

87min: West Ham have picked up possession and are looking to threaten on goal. Yarmolenko loses possession and hurts himself tackling Emerson from behind. He’s stopping play and feigning injury to delay his deserved yellow card.

85min: Willian has been able to get crosses in off from the right against Cresswell, however the team has been unable to find themselves on the other end. Mount fluffs a chance at the edge of the box from an Emerson cross. The ball eventually ricochets for another corner which amounts to no chance on goal again.

83min: Over ten minutes and counting for this tactical setup without a traditional striker. Chelsea’s able to maintain possession, but the lack of a focal point seems to be affecting Chelsea seeking an equalizer.

82min: James gets time enough to hit a long range effort high and wide.

80min: Chelsea recover and recycle attack. Kante misjudged to be offside. On the replay he looked just about on.

79min: Brilliant through ball finds Willian again whose cross doesn’t find a near post runner.

78min: Chelsea trying to work their way through West Ham’s disciplined defensive shell to no avail. Another Willian cutback is intercepted and the movement ends.

76min: West Ham sub: Antonio off for Haller

74min: Chelsea winning the ball back and getting balls into the box, but West Ham are able to easily snuff out the chances. Kante recovers but passes to an offside Willian.

71min: No Batshuayi. Pulisic is lined up as striker at the moment but looks to be a false-nine at the moment. CHO is on the left. Willian on the right. Could very likely be fluid.

70min: For West Ham, Felipe Anderson off for Yarmolenko. For Chelsea, Giroud off for Callum Hudson-Odoi.

69min: Kante hits a through ball to Pulisic, but it is too strong. Pulisic saves it from going out to touch and hit s looping ball that Martin easily secures.

67min: NO GOAL! Snodgrass powers down the right past Willian where Antonio is able to bundle it into goal while shielding off Zouma. Did the ball hit Antonio?

YES! Hello, VAR!

65min: Chelsea’s second half doesn’t look to be getting the improvement they desperately need having gone down a goal. West Ham seeing much more of the ball and look to be growing stronger in possession.

64min: Chelsea trying to break down West Ham’s compact shell again. Willian overcooks a cross and the attacking passage in play fizzles out.

63min: Pedro off for Willian. Jorginho off for Kante. Double change as Lampard looks for fresh legs and revitalized attack.

59min: SAVE! A rare West Ham corner results in a massive save by Kepa from Balbuena’s headed effort! Another corner results in Antonio fluffing a rebounded effort and Kepa secures... whew.

57min: Lampard motioning Willian to stop warming up. Substitution incoming...

56min: Pulisic again in the half space finds Mount whose effort is deflected out for a corner. Resulting corner is headed wide by Zouma.

52min: Chelsea trying to regain momentum, however West Ham seem to be reinvigorated with their goal.

47min: Gutpunch. Cresswell overlaps, receives the through ball, and cuts onto his right, leaving James running past. He curls one and Kepa unable to save far post. 0-1 West Ham

Unfortunately, James unable to get back into defensive position after putting in a dangerous cross just moments before. He’s young. He’ll learn and improve.

46min: We’re back! No changes after the break. Pulisic give and go with Giroud results in a questionable handball incident on Balbuena. Hello, VAR..

HALFTIME: Chelsea have had the most chances by a country mile, however they have been unable to see it through. 0-0 at the half.

Chelsea will have to be disappointed with 12 shots (5 on goal) and no goals for their efforts. They’ve had clear control for most of the game. West Ham have grown into the game, with their only quality effort being the Snodgrass cross headed to Kepa by Antonio.

Halftime entertainment featuring Carly Bae:

45+2 min: Another BEAUTIFUL ball by James. Giroud unable to get to the cross due to a slight deflection from Ogbonna. Pulisic is there at the far post but is unable to contort his body to the adjusted path of the ball and sees his effort high and wide.

45min: 2 additional minutes.

42min: Kovacic hits another shot outside of the box. High on confidence from the midweek. Martin saves with a bobble that Giroud is not fast enough to put it through as we would normally like. Good effort from Kovacic!

41min: Credit to West Ham for growing into the game, as they’re beginning to see more possession. Beginning to be more adventurous into the Chelsea third, however they are not committing as much forward. Too worried about getting caught out on the break.

38min: Pulisic trying to dribble past Fredericks turning him around, however the ball goes out for another corner. It’s a bad set-piece as West ham GK easily secures it.

35min: Another stoppage in play for a West Ham injury... are you just now waking up to catch the match?

31min: West Ham in a compact shell of 4-4-1-1 with only Antonio not in their own half. Chelsea work their way into the attacking third where Snodgrass hits it out for a corner. Resulting corner is his out for another corner. Pulisic flicks it on too wide and James is unable to retrieve.

27min: Pulisic picks the pass into Giroud whose run is well timed. His cross in the box for Mount is hit out for the corner, which looks promising but is not threatening enough.

24min: Kepa SAVE! Antonio finds himself in front of James to head a Snodgrass cross in front of Kepa. Kepa does very well with reactionary speed.

22min: Another dangerous James cross ricochets off Cresswell, hits post, and out for a corner. Resulting corner is dangerous but just too high for Zouma.

21min: Give and go with Pulisic and Mount results in a Pulisic dangerous cross/shot that hit out for a corner

19min: James again causing West Ham’s backline problems as his cross is dangerous and put out by a West Ham defender

17min: Emerson hits a cross which West Ham makes a mess out of and Pedro almost gets to the second ball to hit it in. Previous to this Pulisic was onto goal but his scramble in front of goal is gotten to by West Ham’s GK

12min: A good passage of play doesn’t result in a goal as Jorginho lofts a gorgeous cross filed ball to the right flank where Pedro eventually cuts a cross into the box which is snuffed out by West Ham. Zouma charges for the second ball but eventually his wayward pass leads to nothing.

9min: Pedro hangs a cross which Pulisic leaps at the far post who heads it over. He can jump.

8min: Pulisic makes a great run to receive the ball in the half space and leaves it one-touch for Mount whose shot is saved by the new West Ham GK debutant

7min: Reece dribbles past two players and whips in a cross that is just ahead of Giroud

3min: CHANCE! Emerson puts the ball in the box for Pedro, whose shot is saved.

KICK-OFF: And we’re off! Chelsea in all blue and West Ham in claret and blue.
