Pulisic: ‘It is so much fun to play with these guys’

No hat-trick this time, perfect or otherwise, for Christian Pulisic, but “Captain America” once again found the back of the net for his fourth goal in his last two Premier League games. It would also once again prove to be the winning goal for Chelsea, after the Blues (with a little help from VAR) almost contrived to play out the “two-nil and you [FUN]ed it up” cliche in spectacular style.

Fortunately, Chelsea hung on to the win and all three points, and solidified our top four claim by opening a six-point gap to fifth place Arsenal. Never a boring moment this season, that’s for sure!

For Pulisic, it was also equal parts fun and dread, but all’s well that ends well!

“Those last five or 10 minutes felt like a really long time. In the second half we felt like we were dominating. We needed to get a third to put the game away but then we gave away a soft penalty in my opinion.”

“We had opportunities to put the game away but we gave a penalty and they made it close at the end. The penalty seemed to come from nowhere and that’s why we needed to score more goals.”

Having barely featured throughout the month of September, Pulisic has come on very strong in the last few weeks, first from the bench and now by starting three consecutive games in all competitions. But just because he’s won his starting spot back, that doesn’t mean the work on the training ground stops. If anything, he will need to work even harder as others, like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Pedro, push for minutes.

“I feel confident but the hard work does not stop now for me. It is so much fun to play with these guys up front who help me so much.”

“I want to make an impact for the team and I am enjoying it a lot. I want to prove every week that I deserve to be in the starting line-up.”

After the November international break, Chelsea head into the busy winter grind portion of the season and we will need everybody firing on all cylinders.
