PICTURES: High spirits in Chelsea training ahead of Watford match

Miles of smiles

Presumably the Chelsea boys did some actual work in training today, too, and not just goof around, but it’s certainly nice to see sprits (and therefore probably confidence, too) remain high ahead of tonight’s game against Watford at Vicarage Road, especially after Wednesday’s disappointment at Stamford Bridge.

Unfortunately, the pictures do not reveal too much surprising fitness information, though Andreas Christensen seems to have been a full participant, so perhaps he will be able to go today. Antonio Rüdiger, N’Golo Kanté, and Ross Barkley will likely keep us waiting until next week, if not longer — especially in the case of Rüdiger, who’s apparently off to see a specialist to help him overcome the groin/pelvis injury he’s been dealing with for the past several weeks.

That said, Ross Barkley can be spotted warming up in the video below, alongside Emerson, who was a surprise absentee midweek, but should be just about fit and ready to play now.
