The best part of Christian Pulisic’s goal, his fifth in his last three Premier League games, is that his hip was already hurting and he was one foot off the pitch (Hudson-Odoi ready to come on). And still, Pulisic put in the effort not only to start the move, but follow his pass, track the flight of the ball, and head it in powerfully, unerringly, emphatically. Combine that with his work rate and his twinkle toes, and everyone’s quickly starting to see just why Chelsea may have dropped the truckload of cash on Dortmund’s doorstep for his services.

Every time Kovačić gets recognized for the baller that he is, an angel gets its wings.

3. REECE JAMES (8.0)

From first Champions League goal to first Premier League start, the season of firsts continues for Reece James. Also continuing is his stellar play overall, which is something that will surely just continue to improve since he’s still so young and so raw in many respects. What a time to be alive! (P.S.: If anyone’s looking for Wilfried Zaha, they might want to try James’s back pocket.)

EXCELLENT (8.0-8.9): Pulisic (8.5), Kovačić (8.1), James (8.0)

GOOD (7.0-7.9): Willian (7.9), Abraham (7.8), Zouma (7.5), Kanté (7.2), Tomori (7.2), Mount (7.0)
