N’Golo Kanté returned from injury this weekend, and hopefully he’ll never leave us again for any length of time for any reason.

Fortunately, N’Golo himself seems quite happy to stay and play at Chelsea, although he’s seemingly always happy and humble so who knows what he’s really thinking. He did sign a new five-year contract last November, tying him to the club until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Well, here might be a hint of what he’s really thinking, speaking in an interview to Téléfoot this weekend. Asked whether he could see himself finishing his career, Kanté certainly wasn’t ruling out that possibility.

“Of course [I could finish my career at Chelsea], today I am with Chelsea until 2023. So, in my head, I hope to continue to have great seasons with Chelsea until 2023. [Can I see myself playing in another league?] No, not really.

“When I arrived at Chelsea, I was at Leicester and I had just won my first title with a club. Today at Chelsea, I have had three wonderful years winning titles. I think that it is a club that has helped me a lot and I hope that I will be able to win a lot more titles here...”
