After a day off on Thursday following the 2-1 win over Lille on Wednesday night in France, Chelsea were back on the training ground on Friday, getting ready for the short trip down to Southampton on Sunday.
Antonio Rüdiger, recently spotted airballing a basketball in the pool on Jorginho’s Instagram story, and Emerson, recently spotted putting on a pair of boots on his own Instagram story, were presumably still not full participants, but everyone else was out there and getting ready for Chelsea’s final game before the next two-week international boredom.

And to make things even more interesting, a certain Michael Ballack showed up as well, chatting with Frank Lampard and observing the boys as they were put through their paces. Ballack was rumored for a backroom role this summer as Chelsea began to hire back all the ex-players, and his presence on Friday will surely start such speculation anew. You can never have too much midfield excellence!
