According to a report from Yahoo! Brasil, Chelsea loanee Nathan has already reached a verbal agreement with his current club, Atlético Mineiro, over a long-term contract that will be signed once he is no longer a Chelsea player. Now, the player is anxious over the prospect of putting pen to paper as soon as possible.
In current terms, Nathan will only be free from his ties to Chelsea on June next year. Under Bosman rules, he is free to arrange terms and sign a new contract once he reaches the last six months of his deal in January.
As it stands, Nathan’s path to staying at Atlético in definitive would be to extend his loan deal, that is set to end in December this year, until June 2020 when his Chelsea contract expires. But since the Blues are not inclined to take him back, he wants to put an early end to his tenure, just so he can already sign a contract with Atlético.
It certainly helps that Nathan already has an offer from Atlético. But the main question is whether Chelsea will agree with such an idea, without getting any sort of compensation as a return.
