For reasons well beyond my comprehension, N’Golo Kanté has not been let go back home to Chelsea after picking up a hip injury — an adductor muscle strain, to be precise — in pre-match warmups for France’s qualifier against Iceland on Friday.
To make matters even more wildly infuriating, he has not only remained with the national team, he was back out on the training pitch on Sunday, even though he’s still said to be “doubtful” for today’s game against Turkey. And it’s not like France need him to qualify for Euro 2020 at all. At. All. Such nonsense.
N’Golo Kanté training away from the main group this evening at the Stade de France - a doubt for tomorrow’s game vs Turkey.

Sure, Kanté was apparently doing just some fitness work and not actually training with the rest of the squad but a) that just means he’s not playing today and b) why even have him train with France right now?
He should be back at Chelsea, resting, recovering, and doing everything he possibly can to get out of this unfortunate series of various yet probably somehow interconnected injuries.
Please.
