N’Golo Kanté just can’t kick the habit. No, not that habit. The injury habit. We need an intervention!
Hamstring. Knee. Ankle. Now, adductor.
Alas, France have apparently not sent him back home to Chelsea yet, and they haven’t ruled him out of Tuesday’s game yet, despite the midfielder picking up an injury in pre-match warm-ups yesterday. He subsequently missed France’s 1-0 win over Iceland, but he remains in the frame for Turkey, for now, France head coach Didier Deschamps explained afterwards, trying to put a positive spin on things.
“He felt a pain in his adductor muscle. He had a feeling where he didn’t feel comfortable to play. I made the decision [to remove him from the team], because maybe it could get worse. I knew Moussa would be ready.
”I do not think it’s too serious for [Kanté], but I do not have an answer [to whether he’ll play against Turkey on Tuesday] tonight.”

How about, “No” for an answer. Just say no.
Deschamps will certainly be hoping the new injury isn’t anything too serious indeed, especially after recently — just last week! — taking the Mickey out of Lampard over the Chelsea head coach’s request to leave Kanté out of the France squad in September.
“Lampard asked me not to pick [N’Golo] Kante at the last break. Maybe I’ll call him later to tell him it would be nice if you play Olivier Giroud a little bit.”

Yeah, maybe there was an actual reason for that, champ. Chump.
N’Golo Kanté protected us for the past three seasons. Now, we must protect him. Whatever it takes.
