Fabregas thanks Chelsea fans, teammates, staff, owner for trophies and for making him feel special

Cesc tips his Magic Hat as he leaves Chelsea after 4.5 years

Thank you, Cesc Fàbregas!

Posted by Chelsea Football Club on Friday, January 11, 2019

Chelsea said goodbye to Cesc Fàbregas with a glowing tribute on all official club channels, in both words and video, and practically all his teammates posted wonderful messages on social media as well.

One of my favorites among those was from adorable little Pedrito, who’s shared in Cesc’s successes — Cescsesses? — in the colors of Barcelona, Chelsea, and the Spanish national team. Awww.

In response, Fàbregas posted a lovely message of his own on Instagram, thanking just about everyone associated with Chelsea for the past 4.5 years of success. With Chelsea, Fàbregas filled out his trophy cabinet with not just one but TWO Premier League trophies (with a couple cups to boot). When he arrived, we had plenty of questions, but he’s proven himself key under two managers and made us largely forget that he used to play for Barcelona and Arsenal. And that alone is a massive accomplishment.

“It’s with mixed emotions that I am writing this message. To everyone at Chelsea Football Club. The owner Mr Abramovich who brought me here, to my teammates who helped me win so many trophies, to the staff who made my time here so easy and to all you fans who made me feel so special week in week out. It has been an incredible journey and It is with great sadness that I must say goodbye. I will miss you all and wish you the best of luck for the future.”
