How should Chelsea line up against Liverpool in the League Cup?

Liverpool vs. Chelsea, Carabao Cup: You choose the starting lineup

The first of two encounters with Liverpool this week is the less important, less significant one, though it will still be about as intriguing as third round League Cup ties could possibly get.

The modern rivalry aside, it will be fascinating to see how the two managers approach it with their team selections and tactical instructions and how much they may be willing to tip their hand for Saturday’s main event back at the Bridge.

But, this isn’t about what Sarri might do. This is about what you would do faced with the prospect of having to play arguably the best team in England twice in four days, but probably only once since the first one will be more a B-team.

For Chelsea, the B-team took a hit when Ruben Loftus-Cheek got ruled out (again), while we’ll also have to make do without Pedro (shoulder) and Antonio Rüdiger (groin). Sarri will be desperately hoping those two will be ready to go on Saturday, so even if they’re half fit, there’s no chance they’re playing.

Everyone else is available, including Emerson and Ethan Ampadu, neither of whom have played a single minute since preseason.

Choose wisely.
