“Just incredible”

Mateo Kovačić and Pedro Rodríguez have a few things in common. They both joined Chelsea from the two biggest clubs in La Liga (and perhaps the world). They both played alongside the two best players in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, respectively. They both are carrying knocks of a certain severity at this moment.

And they both adore Eden Hazard.

Then again, who doesn’t.

“[Eden is] really good. I didn’t know he’s so good. Obviously I knew that he is a great player. But now, when I see him playing with us every day, every week, he is just incredible. For me, in this moment, [he is] one of the three best players in the world.

“I am enjoying [playing] with him, with other players, because the team is really amazing, talented, and I think we can do great things this season.”

For Mateo then, it’s Cristiano, Messi, and Hazard. Pedro adds Neymar to that bunch.

“It is obvious that Eden Hazard is in the three, four players that are the best in the world like Leo, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Eden.

“Because Eden every year, you show your football and your numbers — score goals, assists, play a lot of minutes, play very good. I don’t know, maybe in a few years Eden can win the golden ball or another thing because he is a very good player.

“He is a big star. It is very good for the us that Eden is in good form with good confidence, doesn’t lose ball, is dribbling very good, score goals. It is a very good help for the team and when this guy plays like this he is very difficult to stop.”

Let’s hope Hazard’s form continues this weekend against West Ham (and then well beyond) after getting a needed rest midweek against PAOK in the Europa League!
