Four members of Chelsea’s 23-man Europa League squad have stayed behind at Cobham as the Blues took to the friendly skies for a few hours on Wednesday to make the journey down to Thessaloniki, Greece ahead of tomorrow night’s group stage match against PAOK.
Eden Hazard (rest), Mateo Kovacic (knock), Emerson (illness), and David Luiz (rest?) did not make the trip and will keep non-registered Danny Drinkwater, Rob Green, and Lucas Piazon company for the next few days.
Injury doubts Cesc Fabregas and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both traveled.
The squad’s numbers, as expected, have been supplemented by a couple names off the B-list, namely Marcin Bulka as the third goalkeeper and Callum Hudson-Odoi as an additional attacking option.
The full 21-man squad is as follows:
GOALKEEPERS: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Wilfredo Caballero, Marcin Bulka
DEFENDERS: Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso, Davide Zappacosta, Gary Cahill, Andreas Christensen, Cesar Azpilicueta
MIDFIELDERS: Cesc Fabregas, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ethan Ampadu
FORWARDS: Pedro, Victor Moses, Olivier Giroud, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Willian, Alvaro Morata
