An excellent first half and a serviceable second were enough for Chelsea to collect a fifth straight win to start the Premier League season. Two goals from Hazard, two assists from Giroud, and some shaky set piece defending were good enough for a 2-1 half-time lead.
Hazard then made his a hat-trick late on from the spot after Willian was taken out as Chelsea made sure of the three points. Willian added a fourth for good measure.
Carefree.
- Chelsea make two changes from last time out, Giroud and Pedro getting the nod ahead of Morata and Willian. Two assists for Giroud and plenty of shots (and a couple great chances) for Pedro.
- Kovačić seems to have picked up a knock, resulting in his early withdrawal for Barkley. Hopefully nothing serious. Chelsea schedule getting busy and Loftus-Cheek already out for two weeks.
- Pedro-Willian rotation continues.
- Zappacosta on for Hazard for the final few minutes as a right winger.
- Next up: PAOK away on Thursday in the Europa League
