Mason Mount registered a goal and assist apiece to help Derby County to their third league win this season. A counter-attack released striker David Nugent down the right and he found Mount in the penalty area, with the youngster cutting in past one defender and powering his effort past Preston stopper, Declan Rudd.

Mount also had a hand in Derby’s second goal, delivering the corner that was finished by veteran defender, Richard Keogh. He could’ve easily had two more assists on another day, with Fikayo Tomori and Keogh (again) coming very close from his corners.
Frank Lampard’s side stuttered through their initial three fixtures, barely beating Reading on the opening day and then suffering losses to Leeds United and Millwall. However, they’ve finally begun to pick up steam with two consecutive victories at Pride Park in the span of four days, beating Ipswich and Preston by two goals to none. At last, the side begin to look like they’re buying into Lampard’s espoused brand of football and showing previously lacking coherency at both ends of the pitch. Let’s hope the Rams continue in the same vein of form and surge up the table, with Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori remaining crucial to their efforts.
